“I Dream of Jeanie” star Barbara Eden rushed to social media to assure fans she’s fine after missing an event due to what organizers called “a sudden illness.”

The 95-year-old actor was scheduled to be honored for her big and small screen achievements at Saturday’s Cinecon 62 Classic Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Prior to the start of that gathering, attendees were informed that Pat Boone, who was Eden’s co-star in the 1962 film “All Hands on Deck,” would be accepting the Cinecon Legacy Award on her behalf while she convalesces.
That development triggered concern from fans.
“It’s okay everyone! I’m okay!” Eden posted on social media on Sunday. “Oh, my goodness there has been a bit of miscommunication.”
According to the star who appeared in nearly 140 episodes of “I Dream of Jeanie” between 1965 and 1970, she’s not ill.

“My doctor very recently prescribed a brand-new medication that turned out to have some nasty side effects,” Eden wrote.
She added that her doctor recommended staying home until that situation is remedied. Eden expressed regret over the “awful timing” that caused her to miss the weekend event and thanked supporters for their concern.
“This is just a speedbump [sic]!” she insisted.
Eden said that she plans to be out and about again soon.
In addition to playing a mischievous genie alongside Larry Hagman, Eden appeared in television programs including “I Love Lucy,” “Perry Mason,” “Harper Valley P.T.A.,” “Dallas” and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.”

She also appeared alongside Elvis Presley in the 1960 western “Flaming Star.”
