Jordan Lecky, 18, was fatally shot Saturday night after a fight broke out during a party at the Lakeside Villas apartments near the Goldenrod neighborhood. The sheriff’s office did not clarify if Lecky was involved in the fight or was a random bystander who was struck when the fatal bullet was fired.

Deputies responded to the apartment around 11 p.m. Saturday after receiving a noise complaint and found a group of nearly 100 people, mostly in their late teens, around the pool area behind the complex’s leasing office, the sheriff’s office said in a Tuesday news release.

The first deputy to arrive at the scene activated his vehicle’s lights and sirens to disperse the crowd, causing several partygoers to scatter.

But just as that happened, the deputy heard a single gunshot coming from behind the leasing office. The deputy then discovered Lecky unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Lecky was transported to a hospital where he died Monday, the release said.

The sheriff’s office released footage of the fight taken by a bystander in the moments leading up to the shooting. It appears at least four individuals are involved in the fight. A small crowd can be seen standing around them.

The individual recording the footage seems to be telling another person off camera to watch the fight, saying “Look at this s**t bro, he’s not okay bro.” But seconds later, that other person tells him someone has a gun, causing him to begin to walk away while still recording the fight.

The individual says “Oh my God” twice before a single gunshot rings out. The individual and several other people start screaming and running away.

No other information was included in the release. The sheriff’s office urges anyone with more information about what happened to contact 407-836-4357 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
