{"id":4071,"date":"2026-06-13T14:34:07","date_gmt":"2026-06-13T14:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/orlandorelocationreport.com\/?p=4071"},"modified":"2026-06-13T14:34:07","modified_gmt":"2026-06-13T14:34:07","slug":"hurricane-center-continues-to-track-system-that-could-form-in-gulf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orlandorelocationreport.com\/?p=4071","title":{"rendered":"Hurricane center continues to track system that could form in Gulf"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>The National Hurricane Center on Saturday continued to forecast an area of low pressure that had formed off the coast of Mexico has a low chance to develop when it moves into the Gulf next week.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/orlandorelocationreport.com\/?p=4069\">Legislature sweeps Florida Forever funding to rural conservation program<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As of the NHC\u2019s 8 a.m. tropical outlook, the broad area of low pressure was just offshore of eastern Mexico producing some shower and thunderstorm activity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile this system has become better organized since yesterday, marginal environmental conditions will probably prevent significant<br \/>\ndevelopment before the low moves inland over eastern Mexico by Sunday,\u201d forecasters said. \u201cThe system could re-emerge over the northwestern Gulf on Tuesday or Wednesday while interacting with a frontal boundary, but conditions there are also expected to be only marginally conducive for development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The NHC gives it a 20% chance to develop in the next two to seven days.<\/p>\n<p>The next update is at 2 p.m. with the NHC making updates every six hours at 2 a.m., 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. for its tropical outlook report.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first potential tropical system being tracked by the NHC in the Atlantic basin since the start of hurricane season.<\/p>\n<p>The eastern Pacific has already been busy with three tropical storms, but so far the Atlantic basin has been quiet.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/orlandorelocationreport.com\/?p=4067\">Fragrance lab opens in Winter Park as perfume category booms<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>As the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season begins, NHC Director Dr. Michael Brennan shares an important message about hurricane preparedness.<\/p>\n<p> <!--Ad-Slot: outstream_video--><\/p>\n<p>Learn more at https:\/\/t.co\/tW4KeGdBFb and https:\/\/t.co\/smDd2LqFsl pic.twitter.com\/SbmmQG8Zni<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 National Hurricane Center (@NHC_Atlantic) June 1, 2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hurricane season officially began June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. The height of hurricane season runs from mid-August into October.<\/p>\n<p> <!--Ad-Slot: cube_article--><\/p>\n<p>The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration expects this season to be below normal with the official forecast released in late May calling for 8-14 named storms, of which 3-6 would become hurricanes.
