EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) \u2014 England is down another right back at the World Cup after Jarell Quansah injured his right ankle during the team\u2019s group play final against Panama on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Coach Thomas Tuchel said after England\u2019s 2-0 victory that Quansah had a \u201cclassic ankle twist\u201d and was elevating his right leg and icing the ankle.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s in pain,\u201d Tuchel said. \u201cHe said he had it before, and it was a matter of days. He hopes that it stays like this, but at the moment it\u2019s just too painful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reece James, who Quansah replaced at the position, was already out of the lineup because of a hamstring injury.<\/p>\n

Quansah was injured in the 59th minute when he got tangled up with Panama\u2019s Jos\u00e9 Luis Rodr\u00edguez, and the two players remained down writhing in pain for quite some time. Quansah was even given a yellow card by the referee while on the field asking for medical attention.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear if Quansah or James will be ready to go for England\u2019s round of 32 game Wednesday as the knockout stage gets underway.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be a tight race for Reece James (and) it will be now a very tight race for Quansah, so I\u2019m worried about these two,\u201d Tuchel said, acknowledging he was concerned about depth at right back. \u201cWe have another injury on the position. We will do everything. \u2026 But, in general, it\u2019s our job to find solutions, and we will find solutions in four days.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

England is dealing with several players being banged up, which Jude Bellingham said is to be expected.<\/p>\n

\u201cA couple lads had to be looked after today, which is completely normal after the long seasons that everyone\u2019s had,\u201d Bellingham said after scoring and assisting on Harry Kane\u2019s goal against Panama. \u201cWe have to look after each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Veteran midfielder Jordan Henderson said he and his teammates will have to see how the injuries go but did not want to make any excuses at this stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody has got to be ready to play whenever needed,\u201d Henderson said. \u201cAnd that\u2019s why it\u2019s important the whole squad is ready to go.\u201d<\/p>\n
