A week after a Lauderhill man died after he was shot during an argument over a parking space at a Walmart in North Lauderdale, the Broward Sheriff’s Office is still investigating after the shooter said she acted in self-defense.

In multiple 911 calls released this week, witnesses detailed hearing a gunshot, seeing a man sitting on the ground and watching a woman walking around near him with a gun before a deputy put her in handcuffs.
Bart Diguglielmo, 62, was shot in the store’s parking lot in the 7900 block of West McNab Road, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said in a news release last week. He died at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.
The name of the woman who shot him has not been released as of Thursday. She stayed at the scene and told deputies she acted in self-defense, the Sheriff’s Office said. Whether she may face charges has not been determined.
Just before 12:30 p.m. June 30, one man who called 911 said he had just seen the woman shoot the man, later identified as Diguglielmo, and asked for first responders to hurry.
“The victim’s on the floor,” he told the dispatcher. “The subject’s walking around, just talking on the phone right now.”
The dispatcher asked if he knew why the man had been shot.
“They were fighting over a parking spot,” the caller said.
Moments later as deputies arrived, the caller said the woman had placed the gun on top of her car.

“What the f— did I just see?” the caller said to himself while still on the line.
One woman who called 911 reported the shooting and a woman yelling at him but said she did not know who or where the shooter was.
“… I don’t know if she’s talking to 911 or not, but she’s up near the body and she’s yelling at the gentleman,” the woman told the dispatcher. “I think maybe to tell him to stay down, but I can’t hear what she’s saying.”
Another man who called 911 said he saw the woman with the gun, standing between a white car and a gray SUV and talking on her cellphone.
“The lady pulled out a weapon … She’s still got the gun out, OK?” he said. “She just shot somebody.”
The Sheriff’s Office has not released additional information.
Spokesperson Veda Coleman-Wright said in an email Thursday the investigation is still active, and the case will be reviewed by the State Attorney’s Office.
