Deputies responded around 8:30 a.m. to the intersection of Plymouth Sorrento and West Ponkan Roads just outside of Apopka to reports of the man and woman fighting inside a car. The car ended up crashing, but the two got out of the vehicle and continued their fight, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Another man had attempted to intervene and was shot, deputies said. The man later died at a hospital. The man and woman involved in the fight remained at the scene.
