An Amazon delivery driver recently died in Lake County after being found unresponsive in an delivery vehicle, officials said.

Deputies responded around 7:30 p.m. Monday to the area of Clark Road in Fruitland Park after receiving a call about an Amazon delivery vehicle that had been running stationary for a long period of time. Deputies found a woman unresponsive inside the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her cause of death of death is currently unclear and the sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate. No other information was included in the release.

Amazon on Wednesday confirmed the woman was one of its drivers but did not identify her.
“We’re deeply saddened by this tragic incident, and our thoughts and prayers are with the driver’s loved ones during this difficult time,” a company spokesperson said. “We’re cooperating fully with local authorities in their investigation.”
