Six missing children, ranging from ages 4-13, were found hours after being reported missing on Saturday night, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

A Missing Child Alert was issued at 8:18 p.m., followed by a cancellation sent from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement at 11:07 p.m., officials said.
The DPBD identified Joia Jina Shepard and Pervis Deontia Sylvester, the individuals believed to be in connection with a missing/endangered children investigation, according to the department’s Facebook post.
The children were ordered by the court to be removed from their custody and the individuals do not have legal custody of them, the post said.

The DBPD later posted an update that the children, along with both individuals, had been located safely.
Officials called the investigation “very active and ongoing” and said more information will be released when available.
