The Norwegian Aura, which will debut in May 2027 sailing out of Miami, features the headlining production “Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston,” which was developed in partnership with the singer’s estate and Primary Wave Music.

The ship will also feature “ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed,” a new original show blending acrobatics and visual effects, “The Vinyl Republic,” NCL’s newest live music collective and the return of the adults-only “LunaTique: Pop Circus,” creating entertainment experiences for guests from day to night.

The announcement of the Whitney Houston show follows the trend of previous NCL ships that have presented tributes to Prince and Elton John.

“With ‘Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston,’ we’re building on the incredible momentum we’ve seen from our Vegas residency-inspired productions celebrating some of music’s most iconic artists,” said Bryan White, vice president of entertainment production at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. “Following the success of our Prince and Elton John productions on Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, respectively, this new show reimagines Whitney’s legendary catalog through contemporary arrangements, dynamic storytelling, stunning visuals and powerful live performances.”

The Whitney Houston show is staged in the three-story Aura Theatre & Club, featuring live vocalists and musicians, stunning visuals and performances that extend beyond the main stage for an “immersive experience.” Guests will hear timeless hits such as “It’s Not Right, But It’s OK,” “I Will Always Love You” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me).”

“We are thrilled to partner with Norwegian Cruise Line to present ‘Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston’ for the debut of the Norwegian Aura in May 2027,” said Pat Houston, executor of Houston’s estate and president of the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation, in a news release. “Whitney enjoyed cruises. Her fans and supporters will have a nostalgic experience enjoying the extraordinary artistry and live music of Whitney Houston, performed by world-class musicians while sailing on the high seas.”

The same venue will host the 45-minute “ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed” and NCL’s newest live music collective “The Vinyl Republic,” a band that will perform a Journey tribute show and a late-night country party. The band will also perform live music throughout the ship.

The Aura Theatre & Club will also feature “LunaTique: Pop Circus” for adults-only shows blending cabaret, circus artistry and immersive nightlife. The theatrical experience is available for an extra cost and has cocktails paired with each performance.

Other new experience on NCL’s new ship include “Aura FIRST NIGHT,” a welcome showcase highlighting the ship’s entertainment lineup,” and “Latin LIVE!,” a poolside poolside celebration with live percussion, vocalists and dancing.

Before homeporting in Miami for the ship’s inaugural season in June 2027, the Norwegian Aura will sail a weeklong Mediterranean voyage from Trieste, Italy, to Barcelona, Spain in May of 2027. Norwegian’s newest and biggest vessel will then embark on a transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to Miami for a 13-night journey. During the ship’s first summer, fall and winter season in Florida, guests can explore weeklong voyages with calls in Cozumel, the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas, Honduras, NCL’s Harvest Cay in Belize and NCL’s private Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.
