UCF received close to $20 million in revenue from the Big 12 Conference in its second season with the league.

According to the most recent 990 tax documents obtained by the Sentinel, the conference reported a record $610 million in total revenue for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Those figures were up from the previous year, when the Big 12 posted $493.82 million.

The Big Ten distributed a record $1.3 billion in total revenue, followed by the SEC ($1.03 billion) and the ACC ($826.5 million), according to USA Today.

This was the second season UCF was a member of the league, having joined in 2023, along with BYU, Cincinnati and Houston. All four schools agreed to receive half shares of revenue in their first two seasons and will receive their full shares in the 2025-26 fiscal year.

The Knights previously received close to $21 million in revenue during their first season in the league, which also included a bowl appearance.

The report also featured four newcomers from the Pac-12: Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado and Utah. All four schools received full revenue shares as part of their deal to join the Big 12.

Part of the Big 12’s revenue includes $336.59 million from its television contracts, $192.14 million from bowl games, $45.6 million in NCAA revenue, $17.08 million in ticket sales and $3.18 million in other revenue.

The league also benefited from revenue shares from the NCAA from the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments, along with NCAA sponsorships and grants.

The Big 12 distributed $557.03 million of revenue to its 16 member institutions, with Arizona State leading the way with $43 million, followed by Iowa State ($41.19 million), Baylor ($39.95 million), Kansas State ($39.83 million), Texas Tech ($39.73 million), West Virginia ($39.58 million), TCU ($39.27 million), Oklahoma State ($38.03 million), Colorado ($39.03 million), Kansas ($38.31 million), Arizona ($38 million), Utah ($37.88 million), BYU ($23.11 million), Cincinnati ($20.21 million), UCF ($19.98 million) and Houston ($19.88 million).

The conference payouts per school averaged close to $39.5 million.

The distribution figures include revenue from media rights, bowl payouts and the NCAA, all of which are eligible for each school.

The Big 12 posted $609.4 million in expenses during the fiscal year, with the majority going to cover conference distributions. Other costs include compensation for officers, directors and key employees ($4.18 million), salaries ($6.34 million), legal fees ($4.18 million), travel ($1.72 million) and insurance ($1.07 million).

Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark received $5.07 million in total compensation from the league, according to the tax documents.

The report for the fiscal year of 2025-26 will include a full revenue distribution for UCF.
