Orlando’s Main Street districts, 12 in all, are banding together this week in celebration of Sip & Savor Weeks, a citywide celebration that highlights these neighborhoods’ diverse, independent culinary businesses — the foundation of what makes this city not only beautiful, but delicious.

“This is one of those rare efforts where everyone benefits,” Misty Heath, executive director, SoDo Main Street District, said.

“Businesses gain visibility during a season that’s traditionally slower, residents get to discover new favorites at approachable price points, and all 12 Main Street districts are working together to celebrate what makes Orlando’s neighborhoods so unique. There’s a real sense of camaraderie among the Main Street districts, and it’s fun to cheer each other on while showcasing the best of our neighborhoods.”

Sip & Savor runs from July 24 through Aug. 9 and invites guests, whether local or visiting, to explore unique offerings like limited-time menus, curated bundles, and even special pricing, and to experience the unique cultures of each neighborhood.

“I’m absolutely thrilled that the Orlando Main Streets are coming together to support our incredible restaurants, bars and food purveyors during Sip and Savor Weeks,” said Mike Griffin, executive director of City District Orlando and chair of this year’s effort, in a news release. “Our districts are home to some of Central Florida’s most innovative and inspired food and drink experiences, and this initiative is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy them at exceptional value.”

More than 80 different businesses are participating in this year’s campaign, including breweries, boutique coffee shops and eateries offering global cuisines. Timed during the gap between Orlando Weekly’s Bite 30 program and Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining, Sip & Savor, said Heath, gives businesses a well-timed boost.

“Programs like this remind people that our neighborhood businesses need our support year-round, not just during the holidays or special occasions. Summer can be a challenging season for many local businesses, and choosing to have lunch at a neighborhood café or meet friends at a local brewery makes a real difference.”
