Florida’s gas prices are trending lower after hitting record highs last week.
On Sunday, the state average for a gallon of gas was $4.43, after peaking on Thursday at $4.50 per gallon, according to AAA – The Auto Club Group.

Sunday’s price is 10 cents more than a week ago, 34 cents more than a month ago, and $1.48 more than this time last year.
“The fuel market remains headline-driven and extremely volatile, making it difficult to predict what drivers will pay at the pump this summer,” said spokesman Mark Jenkins.

The most expensive metro markets are West Palm Beach-Boca Raton ($4.58), Naples ($4.52) and Gainesville ($4.51).
The least expensive metro markets are Pensacola ($4.12), Crestview-Fort Walton Beach ($4.15) and Panama City ($4.17).
