Lake deputies say Charles Barton Lucas, 59, who is listed as an “overseer” on the website of Heritage Community Church in Fruitland Park, was arrested for five counts of video voyeurism.

Deputies arrested Lucas after the IT director at Lucas’ employer, RoMac Building Supply, found files on his computer during an upgrade, including what appeared to be inappropriate photographs of adults and adolescent girls, according to the arrest report.

Further investigation revealed more photos and videos on a cloud drive that showed adolescent girls changing clothes and making use of a church bathroom after a baptism service. The sheriff’s office did not say during what time period the photos and videos were captured, though said some date to the early 2000s. The arrest report noted the church’s pastor was cooperative and assisting investigators.

As victims are identified, they will be contacted individually, according to a sheriff’s office release. Lucas was released from jail Saturday on a $25,000 bond.
