Officers around 10:15 a.m. Thursday responded to the 1500 block of Heather Way after receiving a report “of an individual with apparent injuries,” according to a Kissimmee Police Department statement.

The department did not say if the person was dead at the scene or died later and has not yet released the victim’s name. The agency was still working to notify next of kin, a spokesperson said.

Detectives determined that a vehicle was taken from the Kissimmee scene and later found in Altamonte Springs. The driver, according to KPD, was arrested by police there, but it’s not clear whether the driver is linked to the death investigation or what charges that person faces.

“At this time, detectives are working to determine what, if any, connection the individual may have to this investigation,” KPD’s release said.

A spokesperson for the Altamonte Springs Police Department did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment, and KPD has not issued a further update into its investigation.
