A Lauderhill man died on Tuesday after a woman shot him in what she said was self-defense during an argument about a parking space at a Walmart in Broward County.

Just before 12:30 p.m., deputies were called to the Walmart in the 7900 block of West McNab Road in North Lauderdale, where they found Bart Diguglielmo, 62, who had been shot, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday.

He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale and was later pronounced dead there.

The woman who shot him stayed in the parking lot and told detectives she acted in self-defense, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office did not provide further details about the altercation before the shooting or identify the woman.

Homicide detectives are investigating and will present their findings to the State Attorney’s Office to decide whether to file charges.
