Jamaica Emancipendence Ole Time Fair
Hosted by Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam, this celebration of Jamaica will spotlight performances by Ky-Mani Marley, Warrior Love Band, Louie Culture, D’Yani and Dj Billy Slaughter. There will also be a Coronation Farmers Market and Cultural Showcase. The event commemorates Jamaica’s emancipation from slavery on Aug. 1, 1838, and independence from the United Kingdom on Aug. 6, 1962.

Emancipation Day: Freedom Across the Caribbean
Presented by the African American Research Library and Cultural Center and the Island SPACE Caribbean Museum, this event honors the end of enslavement in the English-speaking Caribbean. There will be music, storytelling, hands-on activities, conversations and food vendors.

Banyan Dance Festival
Choreographers, professional artists, aspiring dancers and community members will stage performances, training sessions and public engagement experiences during this weeklong celebration of dance taking place throughout West Palm Beach. This inaugural event will be produced by the Natural Movers Foundation and the GroundedWPB program.

64th Jamaican Independence Celebration
This 21-and-older event will pay homage to the island nation’s culture and music with performances by headliners Beenie Man and Marcia Griffiths, as well as a lineup including Mikey Spice, Shuga, Empress Uneek and Mical Rustle.

PrideFête: An LGBTQ+ Caribbean Festival
This festival — which bills itself as Florida’s only celebration of Caribbean LGBTQ+ culture — will feature music, entertainment, craft vendors, a food court and parade with traditional Caribbean drummers and masqueraders.

Obon Weekend
In honor of ancestors, the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach presents this festival and holiday annually, inviting guests to write the names of departed loved ones as well as messages on memory slips. The event will also have taiko drumming performances and Japanese folk dance workshops by Fushu Daiko. For kids, there will be a paper lantern-making session. The weekend will culminate with a Launch the Lantern Dinner fundraiser (for guests age 16 and older).

5th Annual West Palm Beach Beer Fest
Don’t let the name fool you. This time around, the annual suds soiree has a new home — and it’s Lake Worth Beach, not West Palm Beach. But everything else is essentially the same, with the event’s signature unlimited tastings from local and national breweries as well as spirits brands. There will also be live entertainment, food vendors, local artisans and a Beer Stein Hoist competition hosted by Boston Beer Co. Attendees must be at least age 21. The festival is dog-friendly.

Monster Jam
A weekend of truck racing, freestyles and Pit Party experiences (up-close looks, photo ops, autographs, driver meet-and-greets) are once again coming to Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise. The lineup of drivers includes Krysten Anderson, Kayla Blood, Jon Zimmer Jr., Charlie Pauken III, Armando Castro and Tony Ochs, as well as Matt Pagliarulo and his son, Michael “Magic Mike” Pagliarulo.

Lip Sync Battle
This “night of music, outrageous performances, and community impact” will feature local celebrities and raise funds for Boca Raton arts education through the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Association. Emcees will include Beth Stibal from Sunny 107.9-FM and Trish McKibbin of Fire & Ice Productions.
