“A wet weather pattern persists through this week. The main storm hazard will continue to be the potential for locally heavy rainfall that could lead to mostly minor flooding,” forecasters said. “Otherwise, frequent lightning strikes and gusty winds up to 50 mph will also be possible.”
Torrential downpours could bring 2-4 inches of rain in a very short period with some areas potentially getting 5 inches, forecasters said.

Muggy conditions continue with temperatures in the low 90s in the interior and high 80s on the coast. The peak afternoon heat indices are expected to climb over 100, but fall under heat advisory criteria.
At the beach, there remains a moderate risk of rip currents at all Central Florida beaches.
