The gruesome leg and knee injury that cut short Tyreek Hill’s Miami Dolphins career is still causing him difficulty nearly 10 months later.

The former Dolphins star wide receiver released a video on social media Wednesday night that showed his rehab progress in a private workout while taking breaks to detail the process.

“I have no power in my left leg at all,” Hill said in the video. “So I’m trying to regain all the power back in my left leg.”

Hill, who was released by the Dolphins in February, underwent two surgeries to repair the knee dislocation suffered in last year’s Sept. 29 Monday night game against the New York Jets. The way his leg turned the wrong way after getting tackled along the sideline that night at Hard Rock Stadium, it was always known it would be a long road to recovery for the 32-year-old veteran.

Many of the workouts Hill did in the video were impressive, performing explosive jumps in a pool and pushing off the leg he’s rehabbing, showing there is at least some power where Hill says there is none.

While admitting his lower-body power is lacking, the eight-time Pro Bowler has been pleased with his rehab progress, nonetheless.

“You know they told me you might not be able to walk again,” Hill said in the video. “The doctors were like, ‘Bro, we don’t know what’s going to happen with your future.’ And now look at me.”

Hill ran in the video, at a fraction of his speed. He appeared to still possess instinctive explosiveness to his step, but not nearly at the level required for him to line up against NFL defenses.

Teams across the league are beginning to report for training camp. The Dolphins already have rookies at team facilities, and veterans report Tuesday. Miami’s first training camp practice is Wednesday.

Hill, who is a free agent after his release from the Dolphins, doesn’t appear ready to join a team during camp, but if he continues to progress, he could find a suitor looking for a midseason receiver addition this fall.

“I ain’t going to tell you what my timeline is,” Hill said, “but timeline looking real good right now, man.”
