The victim went to a club on the cruise ship, where she had an alcoholic beverage on her own, the sheriff’s office said in an arrest affidavit. Cody Gray, 34, of Maitland met her at the club and gave her three more alcoholic beverages while they socialized at the club, the report said.
While they were there, she told Gray that she didn’t want to have sex with him, the affidavit said. She was eventually inebriated and went back to his cabin, where he is accused of raping her.
She was unconscious afterward when her parents were found and brought to Gray’s cabin, the affidavit said. She told ship staff and her parents she couldn’t remember what happened inside his cabin “but reiterated that she never consented to have any sexual activity” with him.
Cruise staff held Gray until the ship arrived at PortMiami, where he was arrested by deputies. Authorities didn’t identify the victim or the involved cruise line.

Gray is charged with sexual battery with no serious injury and giving alcohol to a minor, the affidavit said. He was being held Monday pending a bond hearing at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office General Counsel Guy Robinson said “we have no comment at this time.”
