Week 4 of Orlando area high school football has 20 games being played Thursday night because Orange County and Seminole County schools observe the Jewish holiday. That still leaves 23 games for Friday — including the marquee Lake Mary at DeLand matchup.

There are six Sentinel Super 16 teams playing at home on Thursday and six more taking the field on Friday night.

Week 4 Football Preview: Question marks galore for Orlando area teams
Thursday’s Super 16 games
Boone at No. 3 Jones

Both teams are 1-1 going into their first meeting since Jones won 51-14 in 2023. The Tigers scored a 12-6 win Saturday against an Evans team that beat Boone 47-13.
Jones is ranked No. 4 in Class 4A.
No. 4 Edgewater at No. 13 Lake Nona

First football meeting between these Metro Conference teams. Both are 2-1 with losses by close margins. Edgewater lost 21-14 to The First Academy in Week 2. Lake Nona lost 13-10 in overtime against Winter Park last season.
Edgewater is No. 8 and Lake Nona No. 22 in the 6A rankings. They are in different districts.
Ocoee at No. 5 West Orange

The host Warriors (3-0) have outscored opponents 140-30 with junior QB AJ Chung completing 64.6% of his throws (42-of-65) with 12 TDs and zero interceptions.
The Knights (2-1) have won two in a row after losing to Edgewater.
West Orange leads the “Shield” rivalry 16-7, including three close wins in a row since Ocoee won a playoff rematch in 2022 by a 29-28 score.
West Orange is No. 11, Ocoee No. 18 in 6A.
No. 10 Evans at No. 14 Winter Park

Evans (1-2) lost close games against Lake Nona, 31-27, and Jones, 12-6.
Winter Park (2-1) lost 29-26 against Windermere in its opener.
These teams didn’t play in 2024 and 2025. Winter Park has won five in a row since the Trojans prevailed in 2012.

Evans is No. 22 in the 5A rankings.
The game is at Showalter Field.
Other Thursday Super 16 games
University (Orange City) at No. 6 Sanford Seminole
Seminole is 3-0 with its defense dominating every game to date. The visiting Titans (1-1) have matched their win total from last year (1-9).
Manatee at No. 15 Lake Brantley
Lake Brantley was 2-0 before losing 35-28 in overtime against Oviedo last week.
The Hurricanes (2-1) lost their opener, 33-26, against Tampa Plant.
Manatee is No. 20 in 5A.
Melbourne at No. 10 Oviedo
The winner jumps into the driver’s seat for 5A District 5.
The Lions (1-2) lost two close games, then squeaked out its overtime win against Lake Brantley.
Melbourne (2-1) was thumped by Merritt Island, 35-7, in Week 2.
Friday Super 16 games
No. 8 Lake Mary at No. 1 DeLand

Lake Mary (1-1), the 7A state champ last year, beat DeLand in playoff matchups the past two years — 49-14 in 2024 and 40-31 in 2025. The Rams lost to Kissimmee Osceola 17-9 last week.
DeLand is also 1-1 with a valiant loss to a St. Frances (Baltimore) team that is ranked as high as No. 2 nationally.
DeLand is No. 2 and Lake Mary No. 7 in the Class 6A rankings.
No. 2 The First Academy (3-0) at South Lake (0-2)
TFA is No. 4 in 2A, a top-heavy classification. Third consecutive road trip for the Royals. They won close games at Edgewater and Port Charlotte.
Lakeland at No. 9 Kissimmee Osceola
This is a fabled rivalry, and is back to being a district game. Osceola is 0-3 vs. the Dreadnaughts since the Kowboys scored a 35-28 playoff win in its 2014 state runner-up season.
Lakeland (1-1) is No. 3 and Kissimmee Osceola (2-1) No. 8 in 5A.
No. 12 East Ridge at South Sumter, 7:30 p.m.
The schools meet for the first time since 2014, when the Raiders routed East Ridge 45-0.
Lake Minneola at No. 16 St. Cloud
St. Cloud (2-1) overpowered the Hawks 55-6 last season. Last week, the Bulldogs pulled out an overtime win against South Sumter.
Lake Minneola is 1-2.
