Barbecue, bacon and beer are the focal points of an All-American, food-centric event returning to Mount Dora this weekend.

Pitmasters and Pourers returns to Elizabeth Evans Park on Saturday afternoon with eight barbecue vendors, live music, professional wrestling, college football, a salute to veterans and a drone show.
“This is the last event of the summer season,” said Chris Carson, the cultural and special events manager for the City of Mount Dora. “What’s so special about this weekend is that it’s the remembrance of 9/11, the 25th anniversary, as well as America’s 250.”
Now back for its fourth year, this event previously featured a sampling format, with food included in the ticket price. This year, attendees can purchase food directly from vendors.
The event opens at 3 p.m., followed by the salute to veterans and first responders at 4 p.m. Professional wrestling steps into the spotlight at 4:15 p.m., featuring personalities from the Real Radio 104.1 Monsters in the Morning show.
Country music duo Thompson Square will take the stage at 5:45 p.m. At 7 p.m., attendees can see who takes the crown as the top pitmaster of the day during the barbecue awards ceremony, followed by a musical performance by Naome Bradshaw & The Dot Coms.

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy playing cornhole, watching college football (including the UCF game) on a large LED screen and a cigar lounge. The event is suggested for ages 18 and older but technically open to all ages.
The day’s festivities will conclude with a 300-drone light show over Lake Dora at 8:30 p.m., including a butterfly tribute to Dolly Parton.
