An unassuming spot in the Magic of Disney Animation attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is good for a browse and a chuckle. The Treasures Untold area is both amazingly creative … and ridiculous.

In the small room that leads to the building’s gift shop exit are displays of relics from Disney animated films through the years. So, what we have here are props … from fictional characters … seen in full-length cartoons … now in three-dimensional form. It’s kinda meta and kinda kooky to see acorns courtesy of Chip and Dale.
For extra zing, each item has a placard saying that it is “on loan” from a character, flanked by a photo and a quote.
The selected items span the decades. Here are five examples that left an impression during early visits to the attraction, which officially opened on Monday.
Collection’s complete?
On loan from Ariel of “The Little Mermaid” fame, we see a snarfblatt and dinglehopper, which may prompt a snort. While we landlubbers might call them a tobacco pipe and a fork, respectively, the film’s Scuttle character explains them with some undersea misinformation. Although these items don’t appear in the lyrics to “Part of Your World,” we hummed about whozits and whatits galore the rest of the day.

Cricket match
Disney reached way back into its imaginary archives for the conscience badge earned by Jiminy Cricket in 1940’s “Pinocchio,” thanks to the Blue Fairy. It’s official, 18-karat and attached to a swatch of Jiminy’s outfit. Disney frequently strives to keep proportions right — the sizing of the 50th-anniversary statues comes to mind — but in this case, this would be one mega cricket.

Hooked
A more modern, out-of-the-display-case thinking features Maui’s magic fish hook from “Moana.” It stands in the corner, about 6 feet tall with ornate designs.
Quote: “You’re welcome!”
Do the hustle
Near Jiminy’s budget is a set of Pawpsicles, a curious if delicious museum piece/frozen treat on loan from Nick Wilde in “Zootopia.” They come in a cooler with Niceberg Frozen Treats branding, and wouldn’t they be a viable alternative to Disney’s popular Mickey Bars?

Nonsensical shoes
We would file Cinderella’s glass slipper in the “no-brainer” category for this display. It has its own case and is lovingly lighted while also resting on a royal purple pillow.

Select other small moments contained within the Magic of Disney Animation attraction:
The Emmy won for the “Once Upon a Studio” short gets the glass-slipper treatment nearby. (The 9-minute film is shown in the attraction’s theater.)
Miniature movie posters for Disney’s 64 animated features are displayed nearby, plus one for No. 65 ‚ “Hexed,” which comes to theaters Nov. 25. Among the voice actors featured are Rashida Jones, Jodie Foster, Hailee Steinfeld, Alan Tudyk, Walton Goggins and Tracey Ullman.
There are more props-of-sorts on a shelf in a hallway, explained as lost and found, but items are labeled like in the Treasures Untold area. One obvious one: the black cauldron from “The Black Cauldron.”
We hate to list air-conditioning as a plus to this attraction, but, wow, it was working and appreciated on opening day. That covers the theater, meet-and-greets, Enchanted Gallery and the Olaf Draws activities. Plus there are seating areas for the general recharging of batteries for humans and devices.
