Carrot Top has been hospitalized following an alleged suicide attempt, according to a report.

The comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson and has a home in Winter Park, was rushed to the hospital ahead of his performance at the Luxor Hotel & Casino on Friday night, TMZ reported, citing sources. His show, part of his long-running Vegas residency, was canceled as a result.
Thompson’s representative, Jami Schlicher, also confirmed his hospitalization.
“Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs,” Schlicher said in a statement to TMZ. “His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy.”
Thompson was born in Rockledge, grew up in Cocoa Beach and graduated from Cocoa High School in 1983.

No further details, including Thompson’s current condition, were provided.
Thompson, well-known for his wild red hair, is a stand-up comedian and actor who revolutionized prop comedy with his eccentric and fast-paced performances. He burst onto the scene in the 90s, with successful appearances on Comic Strip Live and Star Search. But his career really took off after his debut on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 1992.
He has also headlined a long-running residency at the Luxor Hotel since 2005, performing nearly 300 shows a year. It is one of the longest-running and most financially successful solo comedy headlining shows in the history of the Las Vegas Strip.
