Former UCF guards Riley Kugel and Themus Fulks have both signed tryout contracts with the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2026 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Both players went undrafted in the NBA draft.

Kugel, who attended Dr. Phillips High School, led the team in scoring with 14.4 points per game while starting 31 games this past season for the Knights. He averaged 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 41% from the field and 38% from 3-point range.

The Orlando native previously played two seasons at Florida before transferring to Mississippi State in 2024 and then to UCF in 2025.

Like Kugel, Fulks was one of 13 newcomers to join the roster in the offseason.

He was second in the Big 12 in assists, averaging 6.6 per game while scoring 14 points per game. The North Carolina native appeared in all 33 games this season, shooting 46% from the floor and 39% from 3-point range.

Fulks previously played at South Carolina State, Dodge City Community College, Louisiana and Milwaukee before arriving at UCF.

The NBA Summer League in Las Vegas begins on July 9 and runs for 11 days with all 30 teams participating.

UCF finished the regular season with a 20-10 record, including a program-best 9-9 mark in the Big 12. The Knights finished with five Quad 1 victories, with wins over Texas A&M, No. 17 Kansas, No. 11 Texas Tech, No. 19 BYU and Cincinnati.

The win over the Bearcats came in the Big 12 Basketball Tournament on March 11, effectively locking up a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

UCF earned an at-large bid and was a No. 10 seed in the 68-team tournament. UCF faced seventh-seeded UCLA in the first round at XFinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. It was the Knights’ first appearance in the tournament since the 2018-19 season.

A 75-71 loss to the Bruins ended UCF’s season at 21-12.
