Jaylene Vargas Gonzalez — identified Monday by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office — was found in the Amazon delivery vehicle around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 in Fruitland Park. Police responded after someone reported that the vehicle had been running stationary for awhile. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Gonzalez was the mother to two young children, according to a GoFundMe set up by their father and stepmother to support them. She was described as “an incredible woman” and “a loving mother of two beautiful children who were her entire world and her greatest reason to keep going,” the GoFundMe post said.

“Rest in peace, Jaylene. Your memory, your love, and a part of you will forever live on through your children,” it added.
The sheriff’s office, which did not release Gonzalez’s age or hometown, said Monday that it was waiting for a medical examiner to determine her cause of death.
