The deal is one of the most lucrative in college sports history, according to multiple reports.

A UM spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.

The sponsorship deal, which will take effect next year, ends a 12-year partnership with Adidas that went into effect in 2015. From 1987 to 2015, Nike was the Hurricanes’ sponsor.

The deal includes millions of dollars in payments to the UM athletic department as well as millions of dollars worth of athletic apparel, according to the Miami Herald.

The reported deal drew positive responses from Miami alumni, fans and college football pundits.
