Incumbent Lake County Commissioners Leslie Campione and Sean Parks handily won their GOP primary races Tuesday as both vie for their fifth term on the Board of County Commissioners.

Campione, the commission chair and current District 4 representative, defeated Republican challenger David Williamson with just under 62% of the vote compared to 38% for Williamson.
Parks, the current District 2 representative, won in a landslide over challenger Humberto Liriano, securing over 86% of votes to just over 13% for Liriano.
The owner of her own law firm, Campione was first elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 2010 and was unanimously selected by her colleagues to serve as chair in 2018.
During her most recent primary race in 2022, Campione was elected as a write-in candidate after her lone challenger failed to qualify in June.

Campione will go on to face Democrat Egor Emery and write-in candidates Vance Jochim and Tommie Powers in November’s general election for District 4, which covers the northern part of Lake County, including Mount Dora, Eustis, Umatilla, and surrounding unincorporated areas.
Parks, the owner of a small consulting business in Clermon, has also served as a commissioner since 2010.
Parks ran unopposed in 2014 and defeated fellow Republican Tad Schnaufer in 2018 with 72% of the vote. He defeated Powers, Campione’s opponent this year, for re-election in 2022.
There is no Democrat in the race, meaning Parks will face write-in challengers Leighton Powers and Jose Elias-Torres in November to represent District 2, which contains Minneola, Montverde and parts of Clermont in the southern part of the county.
