Deputies responded around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to a home in the area of Bay Road near Mount Dora after the woman was reported missing. The person who contacted law enforcement said the woman could not be located or reached, the sheriff’s office said in a Thursday news release.
Investigators looked over the woman’s vehicle and discovered a bullet hole through the passenger-side window and blood in the car. They then found the woman dead under a blanket in the rear hatchback area of the vehicle.
The woman’s family and neighbors said she had an ongoing dispute with the next-door neighbor over property lines. Though deputies saw the man’s vehicle in his driveway, they could not make contact with him at his home, according to the release.
