Trump has made us less safe
Are we safe? Trump’s needless six-month war with Iran has caused serious attrition to our defense munitions. Might Russia or China take advantage? This administration might state we are adequately protected against a missile attack, but I don’t believe this president is known for his honesty. He is better known for alienating our allies, which I see as another frightening thing.

A country might be reluctant to aid in our defense after being slapped in the face by an impetuous lake renamer who is famous for extolling, “I don’t need you!” This is not leadership. With 20 months down and 28 to go with no indication of intervention from JD Vance or the Cabinet or Congress, I am genuinely scared to death.

Big Oil doesn’t need our help
Crude oil prices are up 23% since the beginning of the Iran war, according to the New York Times. Crude oil usually accounts for about half of the price of gas at the pump. So the price we pay for gas should have only increased by about 11.5%, all other things being equal. But it has increased by more than 40%. Well, that’s capitalism, you charge what the market will bear. I am OK with that.
What frustrates me is that Congress is still subsidizing Big Oil to the tune of $10 billion to $35 billion a year. Republicans whine about the deficit all the time, but they are not about to cut corporate welfare from their campaign donors.
Remember this at the ballot box.

We must bolster Ukraine’s war effort
We are finally realizing the value of Ukraine’s ingenuity in the process of fixing our wartime dilemmas. We are now actively ordering and employing Ukraine’s drone advancements to bolster our abilities to fight asymmetrical warfare. We are also asking Ukraine to manufacture components for our Patriot missiles and other heavy weapons that are in short supply.
We should immediately invest billions of dollars to insure that Ukraine defeats Russia. This is for our own security. Please contact your Congress members to make this happen.

To be Jewish in this world
I am astounded by the level of vile antisemitism in this country. I think that much of it is the result of despicable commentary from the United Nations.

Why we continue to support that useless and vile entity is beyond me.
Now, some facts that much of the world may not be aware of that have changed and improved our lives. Jonas Salk developed the polio vaccine. Selman Waksman found a cure for tuberculosis. Baruch Blumberg developed the hepatitis B vaccine.
From 1901 to 2025, 22% of all individual Nobel Prize winners (more than 220) were Jewish, despite Jews making up 0.2% of the world population.
Their share of Nobel Prizes won is roughly 110 times their proportion in the world. In scientific and economic fields, they account for more than 25% of awards. If it were not for the six million killed in the Holocaust, those numbers would be even higher.
Jews have always had to fight just to exist, even though they have contributed so much for the betterment of the world. In spite of the Jewish people having experienced continuous persecution for thousands of years spanning multiple continents, empires and eras, they have survived — and will continue to do so.
