Trump’s disrespect and danger

It is bad enough that Donald Trump has been allowed to create shameless monuments to memorialize what I call his scandalous presidential term in the White House. As sick as his plans for the arch, for the destruction of John F. Kennedy’s legacy via the Kennedy Center and his disrespect for the White House grounds are, they pale compared with his insane, irresponsible suggestion to use the arch as staging grounds for thousands of drones and storage of their highly explosive ammunition, exposing the capital city to extreme danger. We can continue living with the shame of inaction, or we can finally put a stop to Trump’s lunacy.

Your representatives are not working for you

Please vote this November but make no mistake about this:

The absolute No. 1 priority of an incumbent politician is not to represent his/her constituents; as I see it, it is to do and say whatever they think the voters want to hear, no matter if it’s right or wrong, for the sole purpose of getting their vote and keeping their cushy job.

These Trump acolytes, even though they control all three branches of government, are seemingly doing nothing but kowtowing to him while he dismantles this country. Still, they’re promising to “shake things up” … by doing what? Introducing asinine bills to add Trump to Mount Rushmore and put his picture on a $250 bill, or saying nothing while he destroys the Kennedy Center? How do these things help the average American?

Republicans and the Trump aministration have been in power for years. What have they done?

How can we be the richest, most advanced country in history and not have affordable healthcare, college education, paid family leave and childcare?

Also, know this before you cast your vote:

If you’re over 65 and are using Medicare and receiving Social Security, you can thank Democrats, because when they were first enacted, a majority of Republicans voted against them. Only because Democrats held majorities in both houses and the presidency did they pass.

I believe the Republican party ideologies have not changed.

Now Trump is blowing off artificial-intelligence experts whose intelligence is likely orders of magnitude higher than his.

We can’t evoke Nazis

The Sept. 9 news article “Trump posts Space Force uniforms” is disturbing because the proposed U.S. Space Force attire resembles Nazi uniforms.

The uniforms were supposedly inspired by the 1997 film “Starship Troopers.” According to the article, the director of the film designed the uniform “to evoke Nazis.”

Just as alarming is the adjacent news, “DeSantis staffer fired over Nazi image employed by State Department.” A young speechwriter fired by the DeSantis campaign because Hochman promoted a pro-DeSantis video that “flashed an image embraced by white supremacists” is now the chief speechwriter for Marco Rubio.

Hitler and his Nazis committed the most heinous crimes against humanity, including the extermination of six million Jews, and more than three million non-Jews, because of the Aryan supremacy ideology. Our U.S. Space Force’s uniforms must not be reminiscent of this ideology. And our government officials and employees must be free of the destructive Aryan supremacy philosophy.
