A Falcon 9 on the Starlink 10-49 mission with 29 Starlink satellites launched at 5:33 a.m. from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Space Launch Complex 40.
The result was that as the plume of the rocket’s exhaust expanded in the skies, it caught the sunlight from over the horizon to produce noctilucent clouds, a flowy orange-and-blue nebula lighting effect reminiscent of a jellyfish.
The first-stage booster for this mission made its fleet-leading 37th trip to space with a recovery landing downrange on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas stationed in the Atlantic.
Space Coast launch schedule
This was the 54th launch from all providers in 2026 on the Space Coast with SpaceX responsible for all but seven of them.
