Newell Walls, 41, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with arson after Belle Isle police accused her of trying to burn the house on the 6300 block of Stockbridge Avenue following a dispute with the homeowner.

Walls is accused of igniting the blaze using gasoline and a lighter, the Belle Isle Police Department said in a news release. Orange County Fire Rescue put out the flames.

No residents or first responders were harmed, but Walls was treated for minor burns, police said. In addition to arson, she is charged with trespassing after warning.

She was expected to appear before a judge Wednesday afternoon.

No other details have been released. Records that could detail what took place, including the alleged dispute with the homeowner, were not available in court filings. However, court records show she had been to that house before.

In November 2025, Walls was arrested there by police after the homeowner said she was trespassed earlier that day, according to an arrest affidavit.

Walls pleaded no contest in June to trespassing and was sentenced to time served and ordered to pay fines. She also was issued a no-contact order and was prohibited from returning to the home as part of the agreement, records show.
