Florida drivers saw a spike in gas prices due to tensions in the Middle East.

On Sunday, the state average for a gallon of gas was $3.94, according to AAA – The Auto Club Group.

The price is 12 cents more than a week ago, 26 cents more than a month ago and 84 cents more than this time last year.

“Drivers should expect prices to remain sensitive to developments overseas and fluctuations in the oil market,” said spokesman Mark Jenkins.

Crude oil prices surged almost 20 percent over the last two weeks.

On Friday, the price for a barrel of oil settled at $82.49, up from $71.41 a week earlier.

The most expensive metro markets are West Palm Beach-Boca Raton ($4.10), Fort Lauderdale ($4.00) and Naples ($4.00).

The least expensive metro markets are Panama City ($3.70), Pensacola ($3.74) and Crestview-Fort Walton Beach ($3.76).
