According to a news release from the FHP, around 7:20 p.m. the train was traveling northbound in Osceola just west of Michigan Avenue and approaching Garden Street when an adult man was spotted walking inside the tracks.

“The conductor attempted to avoid a collision and applied the emergency brake … but was unable to come to a controlled stop,” the FHP said. The left front of the train struck the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
