A 76-year-old Orlando man is dead after being struck by three vehicles while crossing a highway in Orange County early Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An FHP crash report states the man was crossing State Road 535 (South Apopka Vineland Road) from east to west just south of Palm Parkway, but not in a crosswalk, at 6:04 a.m.
Three vehicles were traveling south on S.R. 535. The lead vehicle, a 2015 Nissan Altima driven by a 57-year-old Orlando man traveling with a 57-year-old woman as passenger, was in the outside land and struck the pedestrian first.
The man was propelled into the outside lane and struck by the undercarriage of a second vehicle, a 2013 Nissan Cube driven by a 47-year-old Orlando man. The driver of the Altima told crash investigators that a third vehicle, possibly a white SUV, had also struck the pedestrian in the outside lane.
FHP said both the Cube and the unidentified third vehicle driver left the scene while the Altima driver remained on the scene. The Cube driver later returned and investigators found undercarriage damage consistent with the collision, the report stated.
The driver and passenger of the Altima and driver of the Cube were not injured.
The pedestrian was transported to Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
